if your doctor can write you a script for trimix , why cant he also write
a script for the antidote , this way after four hours you administer it yourself
you save money and embarrassing trip to the hospital everyone happy batta bing !

He could. I asked once. My uro's response could be summarized as "make it too easy to go over the line too often, bad things happen". He does not want to effectively encourage patients to push the envelope too often, lest they do real and permanent damage.

And he is on staff at the hospital where I would go for urological issues, so I'd see him.

I think you are still better off in the ER.  Our one and only time of making that ER trip, they tried the antedote... didn't work. If you administer at home and sit and wait, you are wasting critical time if it doesn't work.  They only waited 20 mins before they started prepping for the draining.  What a nightmare.
