Lymphocele

I had a robotic prostatectomy with seven lymph nodes removed about four months ago. After being treated for infection for about three months, a CT Scan revealed a very large Lymphocele near the right side inguinal area. Seems this must have been the source of the infection. It measure's 12-13 cm by 9-10 cm so I computed it to be about 500-600 ml in size.

My surgeon said if it is not symptomatic I can just leave it alone and not treat it. Has anyone else had a similar experience and how was your case handled?

Do they resolve themselves given enough time or will I have this forevermore.

The only possible symptom I may have is that I seem to have much less bladder capacity than before the surgery. Is that normal after prostatectomy? My doctor says it may be do to bladder scaring?

Anyone have similar issues?

I had 2 golf ball lymphoceles 2 months after surgery. Had a low-grade fever and some malaise. They self resolved after a month. Self resolvement is not a given, so keep on eye on them. They can be lanced by Uro and are nuisance, more than a game changer of any sort. They do not have the consequences of lymphedema as breast cancer node removal can at least to my knowledge. Lymphedema can be chronic and no fun. I had 27 to 29 nodes removed all negative and pratt drain for 5 weeks. Nice post op pathology
