I agree with dmlvt. I too went into a deep depression due to being left completely incontinent and impotent. I also was self medicating in an attempt to deal with the situation. I finally had to be treated for it. It took a couple of months for the doctor to find the right combination of drugs to control it and I am happy to say it was short of being a miracle for me. I am not ashamed to say I take something. It continues to keep me having a positive attitude.

treatment for incontinence helps but still leak. One pad a day.
Lupron and Casodex from 3/2011 to 8/2011 with Lupron adding to the depression. Taken off Lupron, remained on Casodex
9/2011 PSA .05
12/2011 - penile implant
11/2012 PSA rises to 2.1, urologist takes me off Casodex thinking it is causing a false reading
1/2013 - PSA 48.5 , bone scan reveals many mets, skull to pelvis. Placed back on Lupron and Casodex. PSA goes down to 1.2
9/2013- PSA starts to rise.
12/2013 PSA 13.6
12/2013 - 1/2014 - Provenge treatment
1/2014 - PSA drops to 7.5
And life goes on.
