We are back in the nest - and it is freezing here! 28F outside and 52F inside because 'someone' figured the heat should be set down when no one is home. Brrr.... Quite a shock from the warmth (both temperature and emotional) we were bathed in at GFMPH Florida.
Sonny and Sherry are the perfect hosts!
We miss you guys already!

I'll have to write more later. I need to turn on the water and get the wood burning stove going if there's going to be any chance of a warm shower before bed tonight.

Got home late last night ... 2900 miles on the car; many speed limits broken, but only stopped by police once. Still 6 inches of snow in the front yard -- culture shock.

It was great to meet many new friends, fine food and drink, and more than a few laughs. Thanks Sonny/Sherry and everyone!

The WorryWarts are safely back home!

What a bittersweet feeling. Happy to be home to take care of several mundane, yet needed things, but so sad to have said "Bye" to some of the greatest people in the world, that one could ever have the privilege of meeting! People that I am blessed beyond measure to call "friends."

I never like to give cancer credit for anything, but... without it, we would have never met such awesome people in our lifetime.

This GFMPH, I expanded my "new" friends list. From a GFMPH "newbie" to a three time veteran, there are truly no words to adequately express how powerful this event is and has become to us. We are not only friends, we are family!

I truly love all of these people! They don't allow cancer to consume them. Like us, they choose to live above cancer and live life out loud. And, yes... we are LOUD! Loud with laughter. Loud with jokes. Loud with memories.

I truly wish that everyone would consider attending these great gatherings if at all possible. You absolutely will not regret it. It makes you realize that Disney is BORING in comparison.

Some things in life are truly "life changers." Everyone on this board got that dreaded "life changing" phone call. Now we have GFMPH as a "life changer" event. It's really a simple choice... go with the "life changer" that brings laughter, life, and joy.

Laughing until it hurts is the best feeling and "ab workout" in the world! Eventually, we will all have "six packs" again! :)

OK, so that part is a stretch, but it just feels so dang good to laugh that much!

I look forward to deepening my friendship with all of the new people I met.

To that one lady in particular, who had tears in her eyes... tears of joy at meeting other ladies that can relate to her, I suspect you will become one of my new best friends and years from now, we'll be ol' best friends!

To the guys on Lupron with memory issues, you guys will be old best friends, and when your memory returns, y'all can be NEW best friends all over again! :)

And to our awesome and gracious host and hostess... You guys rock!

I never like to wish time away, as time is too little and so precious... but, I can't wait to "See ya in September!"

Ms. WW, I second everything you wrote. A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of talking on the phone with one of the wives here who happens to live about 10 minutes away from us! One of the things we talked about was the GFMPH gatherings, and I just might have convinced her and her husband to join us in Rochester this September.

Glad everyone is back home safe and sound with wonderful memories tucked away. Looking forward to September in Rochester.

Anyone reading this thread who has never attended a GFMPH gathering should talk to one of us who has, we all guaranty it will change your lives for the better. I can not think of one recent new attendee who didn't come back again at least once just as the newbies last weekend who are all making plans for September in NY.
