Pain in Pelvic area

I'm about 5 months post RP.

Over the last 30 days, I've been experiencing pain in my pelvic area especially while sitting. The pain has become more noticeable as time goes on. I've increased my morning walking distances with warmer weather here in the East. I'm feeling more fatigue at the end of the day.

I'm schedule to see my Urologist in April and have my 2nd PSA test. I'm worried about Ca spreading to my bones. Should I request a bone scan? I've never had one. What say you?

Hey Berk

Is the pain right were the prostate was? If so I feel the same pain from time to time. Hoping this is just the stitches dissolving.

Pat,

I have very minor pain in the groin area but most of it is in the lower pelvic area near the right hip. Maybe it's just old age.

Im a G9 so what I say may not have much wieght for your case, but Pain in the pelvic region that makes it harder to lift or move your leg/s is something to not wait for an April appt. And if the pain never goes away is another symptom. A bone scan would tell.

I have been having pain in the pelvic region for some months. On Tuesday it became unbearable and I was admitted to hospital. The pain is under control and I am booked for an MRI on Friday. The radiologist has looked at my other scans and are pretty sure the pain is not the cancer but down to AVN.......Avascular Necrosis.

What bones in the pelvis area, garyben are you suggesting be scanned as there are none. the periphery maybe, but with undetectable psa and with a mod + possible gleason 7, unlikely a bonescan will find anything. But your { Berk } doc will I'm sure do it if you want, while he holds his nose, in his mind. Anyone here a with mets ever feel them in the pelvis area. The pelvis area is that place where no bones are, that big empty space you see on skeletons. Fear drives every pain to a self diagnosed cancer to the new and/or less informed patient. Knowledge alleviates the fear to most…. If my words are too revealing, blaming me is not your answer. If I am wrong and Mets in the pelvic periphery radiate to the area you are feeling pain, so be it. It's just my take. warning I have been told I have a caustic delivery system. I may have a caustic and sarcastic gene. It swaps places occasionally in a quantum way with my sweet gene and befuddles me and others.

Sorry logoslidat but I don't understand what you are talking about. You sound like a bitter 70 year old man.

I am just relating my experience and I hope member Berk will find it helpful. Pain in the hip can radiate through to the groin. Perhaps you will give me the courtesy of reading the articles I give the links to.

Hey Berk,
Is the pain continuous? I had aches/pains before I was diagnosed in my hip/pubic/pelvic area. I'm a G9 that had mets in the iliac and adjacent bones that may have caused the pain. I hope you have something else going on and that's likely given your stats and the recent RP. That said, it might be worthwhile to at least call to see if a scan is recommended by your Dr.
A steady diet of ibuprofen and Vicodin can relieve the pain if it progresses...
I hope it's just too much exercise!
