I do have the perspective from which you're writing from, however, none of it excuses poor service. I wouldn't give it, nor do I expect it in return. I'm glad you have the relationship you have with him. Would love to be within earshot regarding bleeding penises.
When I was sent for X rays regarding a semi suspicious spot found on my bone scan, I vented some stuff to the INCREDIBLE guy taking my pics. What a guy this dude was. The type that fit the ideal profile to be working in the field and I told him how much I appreciated him. It
opened me to vent a little regarding some things that happened at my uro's office. He referred to my uro as unprofessional and said things like that were prevalent in the field, but I would have to "play the game" to get what was best for me. BTW, the uro told me just prior to going over for the X-ray that it was "game over" for me and "all we would do is give you shots to keep you comfortable" if the spot on my bone scan proved to be cancer.
I've had quite the experience with this guy. He is office visit happy. At one point, I asked him why and if it was about
the $ and told him I needed a uro who cared about
my wellness not just the $. He seemed hurt by my line of questioning but said I was a unique patient with lots of good questions who was well researched. He brought this all up the day he diagnosed me with PCa... His quote was, "See. We weren't just trying to steal your money." Almost as if to say...in your face you *&%$. I was a little put off by the comment but I'd just been told I had PCa so his mannerism was the least of my concern.
My reason for staying has more to do with the fact that I'd left another uro for making we wait 18 days for the results of a PSA test. I didn't want to get into a pattern of just ditching office after office for every little thing that didn't sit well with me. 18 days to get a PSA result is beyond ridiculous, though. That office wanted to biopsy me but no way was I letting them do it. I couldn't stand another 18 days waiting to hear the results on that, so I found my current uro through an odd referral from a lifelong friend's wife who is a PCa researcher in Wisconsin. It would seem my luck is rather poor in the way of uro selection, or this truly is the norm. Either way it's disappointing.
