Greetings everyone, I’m back with my 72 month checkup and it came up ZERO again! I debated whether to post this time since I have had such a textbook bout with cancer but thought maybe I could give some new members additional hope. I have come to the conclusion that when asked I will tell people to ignore the AMA’s stand on Prostate Cancer. Get your PSA checked once a year and when you go past the magic 4.00 do something about
it. In fact get a biopsy at 3.5 PSA. If it is undetermined go back in a year and check it again. Find a Doctor you trust and stick with him. In my humble opinion we have way too many cases of PCa advancing to a more aggressive stage because of the lack of interest, concern and being scared. Everyone is different and reacts to PCa in different ways so be aggressive early and get proactive.
I had an Interesting conversation with my surgeon after my 72 month reprieve. As many of you know I am on testosterone and have been for a couple of years. Yes I know I am possibly a case of interest and have come to the conclusion that maybe if there are no active PCa cell alive after PCa treatment, testosterone supplement may be beneficial. Fast forward to the interest now in how statins can affect testosterone the answer of which may affect you and me in the future. If Obama Care does not kill all research, we are in for a real good ride in the future of controlling prostate cancer.
I send my most sincere wishes of fast recovery and positive news for each and every participant on this site. I am lurking out here trying to learn from each of you about
PCa, however I have learned that I now must learn all I can about
Macular Degeneration as my Guardian Angel has determined I am not busy enough. Cheers!
