Three years ago AFLAC came to our office and I signed up for a couple policies, one of which was the cancer policy. I took out that policy because my older brother was battling cancer, non prostate. When I was diagnosed I was paid $5,000 plus biopsy benefit, 140, within a week of providing my agent with a copy of the biopsy.
Now as I am preparing for the possibility of eventually coming off AS I was contemplating second opinion from Proton beam institutes. I started checking my AFLAC cancer policy and found I have benefits for second opinion, travel and lodging for second opinion, and lodging benefits if I am further than 50 miles from home for treatment.
While I would rather not be in the PC club I am so glad I signed up for AFLAC. It takes a lot of the $ questions out of the equation.
Now I need to investigate further the travel and benefits from Medicare and Tricare for the same expenses.
