Carter wrote an opinion essay for the New York Daily News in February, arguing vehemently for the release of David McCallum, convicted of a kidnapping and murder in 1985. Carter also briefly mentioned his health, saying he was “quite literally on my deathbed.”


“Now I’m looking death straight in the eye,” Carter wrote. “He’s got me on the ropes, but I won’t back down.”

no idea Dylan co-wrote the song. Will google now to see who he co-wrote it with.

I drive by Patterson when I go to the office in NYC and always think of him as I see the ugly rooftops of Patterson off of route 80 east. It's a tough grimy city now and I understand it always was. Probably where he got his toughness from.

Sorry to hear the Hurricane died of PCa, but at least he died a free man.

Dylan co-wrote it with Jacques Levy. I still have Dylan's "Desire" album on vinyl. Though sad to say my 1970s vintage Phillips turntable finally gave up the ghost. I guess it's time to buy one of those USB turntables so I can reclaim my old vinyl albums as digital files.
