Good news with this recent PSA (down from 2.5 to 1.1). After 2 1/2 years my PSA finally had a large decrease. Ironically I started taking POMI-T several months ago. I do not think it had much to do with the decrease.
I still am having Grade I rectal bleeding (very mild) and slight burning during the start of urination. Nevertheless, I believe I chose the best treatment plan for me.

Paul, I'm SO happy with your downward trend...congrats. Now if those pesky SE's will wilt away all will be well.

Radiation guys, they have a lot of PSA anxiety to put up with, two years or more of pure hell watching the numbers jump around...Paul, If I were you, I'd buy a bottle of Champagne and celebrate! That's the kind of PSA history R.O.'s and their patients pray for....

I'm having SRT by. IMRT /IGRT starting next week after PSA rose to .3 in eight months postRP. I also had a 22.5 lupron shot two weeks ago. So should I expect a PSA of zero after the SRT is completed or will it rise then fall like primary IMRT ? Will the lupron make it difficult to determine what will have caused PSA decline?

It amazes me how a stupid PSA test can "make or break" my temporary happiness.
Definitely something I need to work on!

Susan,

Your husband's PSA bounce is amazing!! I can't imagine how much anxiety this has caused you both. Especially the change between 30-36 months. You would have thought at 30 months......finally...all is well. Then get 2.16!!! Fortunately, it came back down and hopefully will stay down forever.
This should give all brachytherapy men hope when the numbers do not always seem ok.

Hi Paul,
Jeff just takes it all in his stride – I do the full blown PSA anxiety for the both of us!!! The top of my head almost blew off when the 36 month result came in as I thought any ‘bouncing’ would be behind us by then too and feared the worse. I can’t tell you how relieved I was when his last PSA result had dropped again.

I think Jeff and I are the poster children for PSA bounce. It has been frustrating to me to see the vast majority of men on this site below 1.0 with one year let alone over 2.
I wish I had Jeff's attitude.
Do me a favor and let us know what the next PSA reading is.
