Hi everyone, never have done this before so not sure about it now.
Here goes,, I had radical prostate surgery and when I did I am told that the P s a score had reached Gleason 10,,,, the surgery didn't get everything. The fringe areas still indicated there was sill cancer present.
The PSA after surgery was 2.5 there was an undiscovered fistula between the retiming and the bladder. I had a Foley Catheter installed at the time of surgery, the surgery date was March 4, 2014. Today's date as I type this is June 14, 2014 and I still have the Foley Catheter. I had a CS twice to date and both times I have been told that the fistula is still open and thus I still, have the catheter. On the 23 I have another SC scheduled, I don't have much hope left that the fistula is closed.
Because of everything, I have had no radiation to date my PSA is 2.8 and probably more by now. I have been told that the fistula must close prior to radiation, it was hoped that the fistula would have closed during the first 30 days, It didn't!
I have been started, about 7 days ago, on hormone shots and a pill. I am told this is successful to,some, extent. I pray it is.
The Foley Catheter is driving me crazy. I want it out! I accept, that I won't be here long, but I truly hope to make one more trip to the eastern slopes of the High Sierras.
If anyone has any words of wisdom or help for me of any kind, I thank you in advance.
