Welcome, new member Brother R: Negative biopsy but still worried about rising PSA

Hello, Bro R, sorry you've got worries but glad you've found us.

Have you talked to your urologist about other things that could explain your rising PSA? A prostate infection can do that. The most common way to diagnose that is to give the man antibiotics and then retest the PSA in a month or two. If the PSA returns to normal, or at least is heading in that direction, then you will have explained the PSA and can worry less about it.

My father in law's PSA went above 10 as best I remember. Turns out he had an enlarged prostate and the Uro "trimmed" it. He has been doing well for at least 7 to 8 years. That it why I was so shocked at my results. As diligent has I had been in getting regular check ups I just knew my situation would be the same as his or maybe just some type of infection. Talk about a reality check!
