What PSA level is acceptable 2 months after Hormone Treatment?

I haven't been on for a while, not a lot has been happening in recent weeks regarding treatment. Anyway my latest PSA level was 0.15 after 2 months of HT, that seems low considering I was 33.9 to begin with.

That is a good level, and shows your cancer is quite hormone-responsive, which is always a good sign.

How frequent are you doing the triptprelin injections and how have the side effects been?

Paul's was just done today and his is at 0.9 and 0.85 today. His testosterone was 0.1 as well. He began at 87, went up to 115 before ADT..... It has been 2 months since 3 month Lupron shot and since June 30 when he had the one dose of taxotere.

I'm having my first PSA and T tests shortly after three months of Lupron and 38 SRT sessions. I hope my PSA is zero and T is <20!

Psa levels that go below .02 have been shown to have significant survival benefit. Oncologists like Strum and Scholz attempt to get their patients to reach those levels.

I understand that a fast drop to an undetectable PSA is a very positive indicator that a good remission is more likely to follow. My docs expected and were pleased to see mine drop from 59 to undetectable in less than 90 days.

MyPSA dropped from 511 to 2.7 in the first month which pleased both me and my MO. As was written earlier, this shows a good survivability rate. I'm now over 7 years into ADT and am finally starting to see a steady rise in PSA unfortunately, but 7 years has been a good ride for a G-9 . . . Q

That seems like a very good response. Quincy too. My sweetheart was at 32 when Dx'd then dropped to 2.4 in four or so months, then began a steady climb despite being on a triple blockade. Both oncologists said they were surprised as the quick response suggested there would be a durable remission. Keeping it all crossed for you!

Hi kukukajoo, sorry I haven't replied earlier. I get the triptorelin injections every 3 months soi due my next one next week.

The side effects include short term Memory Loss (which isn't common and can be really upsetting) and regular Hot Flushes. I'm not quite sure what to take for them, I asked my doctor and he said he didn't know and would write to the hospital for advice.

It's also raised my blod pressure and I am starting to take medicine for that.
