1st Trimix Injection a Complete Fail at 100 Units! Thoughts?

I suffer from some mild ED but have not had prostate surgery. Pills weren't working as well as I'd like so after a lot of study I asked my urologist if I could experiment with Trimix.

Well, as I type this, just 75 minutes have passed since the doctor injected me, and I am limp as a noodle. I mean, nothing. I never really reached a towel rack or complete horizontal erection. The doc injected me as I was too chicken and sahe had me hang around for a while, then told me I could stay or go home to monitor the process.

After 5 or 6 minutes I could feel myself starting to get an erection, but there was a dull, aching pain, too. I reached about a 5 or a 6 and was excited about driving home and getting more comfortable. I thought over time the pain would subside and the erection would get better. After 15 minutes, the pain started to subside but the erection never grew. Now, as I type this, 90 minutes later, I am completely flaccid. I tried stimulating myself with my hand while viewing some erotica, but that didn't work.

The doctor (urologist) is a she, and she has been terrific with my prostate biopsies although the TriMix test was a fail. She played it safe, which I appreciate, but I think the dosages just weren't strong enough. And she injected 100 units!

Here is the script from the compounding pharmacy:

Trimix PR1.25/PAP6 .25/PHE0 .125.

I think that is Papaverine, Phentolamine, and Prostaglandin. She told me after the injection that she started me off with the minimum on each drug, which again is playing it safe. However, to never have reached a "steel" or full erection and to use 100 units (expensive!) was very disappointing. The 5ML vial cost $110 from the local compounding pharmacy, meaning $20 a shot at 100 units, if my math is right. I was hoping for $10 or less a shot.

The doc had originally suggested Edex, but I wanted Timix.

Any thoughts? Observations?

Obviously I am going to have to go back to her and get a stronger script for the Trimix, or this will be a no-go. I am thinking a stronger script and fewer units.

I think if you had a 6, and at the docs office at that, you are going to be OK. I have not had a 6 yet, although I have not gone past 30u's. I was told to start with 20u, paranoia of an ER visit caused me to start with 5u and work up. But, I am not really sure my higher doses have done me much good. I have been trying to decide whether to move on up or not. Sometimes I feel like- what with the injection hassle and possible priapism and/or Peyronie's- it may not be worth the effort. I find I have been going weeks between injections.

The pump gets guaranteed usable wood for me every time, but has it's own issues, but I have only used it for rehab so far and have yet to actually use it for intercourse yet. I had been practicing with the rings, trying to find the right combo,( can actually be too hard after rings are applied) 2 being required to keep it going for long enough and if laying down, and was just about all ready to put it to actual use the other night, but then got some blood in my urine after an orgasm which sort of killed my enthusiasm. I feel like it was related to the rings and back pressure during orgasm, but who knows. This is all so far out. So I have not used it since, not even for rehab(though I will again because I am convinced it is beneficial for rehab), and have not had any more blood since a few hours after that incident. But I have no doubt the pump will provide an 8 or 9 for enough time to conclude the effort.

Still, if you had a 6 at the office, you probably will have enough to finish up if injected at home. But I'm not surprised it did not last long enough for you to be able to drive home and finish up 90 mins later. I'd try again at home with the same dose or a little more and then move on up. And of course, see about a stronger dose next time.

I should also note that I tried Bimix at a recommended start dose of 50u, and got maybe a 1 or 2 max, moved on up to 60 and then 100u(1 ml) and never got any improvement. Nothing even close to usable. I get very close to usable with Trimix, very close but no cigar, you might say.

And for me, just fahgettaboutit if I want to lay down. But, maybe none of my issues apply to you. Because you have "mild ED", I am totally dead down below from surgery. I'm fairly certain you will be able to get things going with the right dose of the right med.

Getting in the "mood" with the wife...prior to injections is something to try.

My doc has changed my script to make it stronger, although I have not seen the new details or tried the new mix yet.

Your doctor did you somewhat of a disservice by having you buy that weak formula just for her to Play It Safe. Paying over $100 for essentially just 'water' is not nice.

Before you fill the next prescription she just gave you, you should definitely know exactly what the formula is. You cannot just trust that she really upped it to a good level since she was so tentative on the first batch. If she only doubled the strength it is still way too weak.

When she wanted to be cautious she should have done some standard strength prescription such as mentioned here (10-30-.5) and then simply started you at 5 or 10 units.

My eyes just watered when I read that you went the full 1ml (1 cc).

I've tried (0.1cc) for 3 to 4 times and nothing happened. Then I used some Pde5i (Cialis, Viagra or Levitra) and used (0.1cc) and suddenly I rose to the occasion. Standup whilst you do this, it helps!

Be patient, and as some suggested try the stronger mix; but be cautious. My mix is ATO 52mcg, PHE 0.9mg, PAP 26mcg!

It can be very frustrating.

I'm in Melbourne, Australia. The mix that I get comes in 11.5ml vials.

I get the following combo from SLADE COMPOUNDING Chemist for $80:

1 x 11.5ml TRIMIX (ATO 52mcg, PHE 0.9mg, PAP 26mcg)
30 x 1cc Needles
30 x Alcohol swabs
6 x 60mg Pseudoephedrine tables (just in case)

My insurance gives me a rebate of $20 per script. So the Total cost is SIXTY Bucks ($60) for 11.5ml of TRIMIX combo (I use 0.1cc and its good to go for 115 injections)

PS. I stack it with Viagra ($29.99 for 12 x 100mg tablets from pfizer) which gives the old fella a certain firmness and I just use a small amount (0.1cc) of TRIMIX for 30-40min "staying power".

PPS. I also get a good firmness with Viagra and a Cock-ring (No VED), which is good for "doin-it". I think in months to cum (pun intended) I might give TRIMIX a miss. But I'll keep it handy just in case.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like your pharmacist is right on track. The doc can only establish a starting dose from which you would slowly titrate up until you get desired results. Everyone is different, so be patient.

Hi all, I was the original poster on this thread and remain excited about Trimix although the frustrations continue. My uro originally started me on what everyone agreed was a watery starter mix, and it did not work.

I was taking 100 units of the initial mix and didn't get much out of it -- maybe a 6 at best on a 1-10 erection sale.

Now with the new script she recommended 50-100 units. i started at less than 50 to try it out, and then recently tried 50 units. Erection was again about 5-6. That's not the experience I'm looking for.

Initial script, from the label:

Can anybody decipher and compare. I notice that with the second script I am not getting the pain I experienced with the initial script, so that's good. But I'm still not satisfied with the performance or the cost-per-shot.

I have been having "practice" sessions so far, but told the wife I'd be ready for the real thing Saturday night, as we have some things planned and it will be a festive evening. Also she has really bought into the full erection promise of Trimix, so there's that pressure.

So I will try the 100 unit mixture this weekend and then have a face-to-face talk with my uro and tell her that I want a much stronger script with a smaller dosage needed.

Just started Trimix.

Titrating Dosage from 20, 30 and now 40 units. No noticeable difference.

Results are 50-60% erection. Not stiff enough to be confident enough to have intercourse.
Tried manual stimulation, with little improvement.
Starts to soften within 45 minutes, Completely Flacid with 1- 1/2 hour.

My Urologist said he would go up to 70 units if necessary without any reservations.
Any suggestions?

I am 65 yrs. old. No prostate problems. ED....Losartin for high blood pressure....otherwise healthy.
Weak results. 50-60% erection lasting just over one hour.
Not looking for more time, but stiffer result.

Tested 20-30-40 units with limited results. Urologist said he would go up to 70 unit is necessary without any reservations.
I am stunned at the levels I am at vs. someone I know (20 units) and the lower levels mentioned in this thread.

Any body have an opinion on my experience? Experimenting...and looking for feedback.

I'm up to 40 units with 60% erection. Injected six times tritating from 15-40 over the past month. I am getting discouraged and depressed at the level of results.
