I just learned from the moderator's forum that our friend Gizzy'n me lost his long battle with prostate cancer. I didn't know Rob personally but recall that his posts on our forum and the depression forum were filled with support and love for others.

He will be missed and my prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

So sorry to hear the sad news, he was such an inspiration and gave many people help on this site. RIP.

He always had a great attitude, and did everything he could, mentally and physically, against his cancer - I respect that. A loss for all of us.

Rob will surely be missed here on HW. His posts have been of great interest and value to me, as he put up an admirably fight. Very sad news, RIP.

I got the definite impression from reading his posts that he was a good man with a good heart. I don't know if he had family, but if so, sincere condolences to all of them.

He is another one of our "fallen" PC Warriors. I will truly miss his lengthy and articulate postings of his test results as he journeyed through this disease. He "paved" the way for a lot of us on this journey, advising what his side effects were and how he was coping with them. I hope and pray he did not leave this world with no one at his bedside. He is at peace and Gizmo will miss his master.....as we all will.....

I am so sad today and fearful of what is to come on our journey.

I've followed Rob for sometime and so appreciate how generous he was with his postings for others to learn from. He was kind and so thoughtful of others...Sal, you in particular and thank you for the link.

G0@ darn It! We really lost a good one here; for those that haven't, I would encourage you to read through some of his posts, what an incredibly down to earth man and brother. I am so tired of this "good cancer" taking out some of the best........ On a positive note, if that's possible here, it simply reinforces the need for me to Pay Forward.

RIP my friend and brother - and prayers to those that you have left behind.

He is truly missed. Here and on the depression forum. I understand that Gizmo has a home already. I think that is awesome. I pray for his family. There were two girls and two granddaughters. Will be sending a card today. If anybody wants an address, please email me. I will be happy to share.

I'm Rob's daughter, Amber. His services were today and they were really nice. My sister and I included a lot of pictures of him and the family, his dogs, and found one of his dog's ashes to put in the casket with him. We included a picture of Gizmo in there, too.

Today, we learned that Gizmo was being picked up by his new dad, a foster parent who has plans to adopt him after they get acclimated, who also is named Bob (my dad went by Bob and Rob with some people).

All in all, today wasn't as bad as I expected. This is my first time with a real, heavy loss, but I feel better knowing that dad is no longer in pain and I got to see him before he passed.

Dear Amber,

Your Dad was so loved here and is a great loss not only to me but several people. He went out of his way to post his journey and kept us positive and informed. I'm happy that Gizzy has a home too.
Thank you for letting us know.

I pray that you and your family will begin to heal on the loss of your Dad.

I will miss him.
