Trimix experience

I have had limited success with ED meds (Viagra, alsprostadil) since my RALP in April so I thought I would give trimix a go. My urologist suggested I try 0.5 ml trimix and if that did not work he gave me a 0.7 ml dose as well the next time. I tried the 0.5 ml dose and it worked great, wonderful erection, everything was going well ... for a while. 0.5 ml must have been way too much though as I ended up with a very, very painful, long lasting erection that required a trip to the ER. It must have been quite comical to those who saw me go into the ER as I was in so much pain I was not shy about telling them exactly what was going on at the admissions desk and of course there was visual indications for everyone to see. Fortunately, my urologist was near the hospital so I had someone with experience there relatively quickly to help me out. I can tell you that they gave me to two, 1 mg (via IV) doses of dilaudid and it did not even start to touch the pain from the erection. The treatment involved large gauge needles (urologist called it a pipe, I think it was an 18 gauge) and some phenylephrine. After about an hour or so after the treatment started, things started to calm down and the pain slowly subsided along with the erection.

At this point, I seem to have recovered okay, some bruising from the treatment and no desire to give trimix another go anytime soon. Anyone else have an ER experience due to a painful erection from trimix?

My boyfriend and I had an experience we'd like to forget. It's a long story on how we got there, but we went from regular trimix strength to trimix-2 and used too high of a dosage. We think the initial problem of the regular trimix was that it was losing it's potency (getting old or we let it get warm somehow). We thought it wasn't working. Doc gave us a brand new bottle of trimix-2. We started with a higher dose than we should have (considering the other mix wasn't working) and whammo, 4 hours later I was driving him to the ER. The urologist on call was Dr. Semen. Yes, you read that right. Very unpleasant experience of having to drain his penis so his erection would go down. He swore he would never use trimix again. I never pushed it, but after the shock of it all wore off, we got back to using it. Almost 2 years since surgery, pills work now... but he has to have an empty stomach. It's hit or miss otherwise. We still use the shot occasionally if we come home from a night out and want to make sure things are going to "work." If we know we are going to be drinking, we'll fill the syringe ahead of time! Don't want to make any mistakes in a drunken stupor and end up back in the ER! It's a horrible experience, but not the end of the world. Using the shot definitely helped the penile rehab, so it's worth another go.

Ouch .5cc or .5ml is a LOT! Glad you came out the other end unscathed, and a little more cautious.

I'm very cautious with Trimix. The first batch did not work at all and rather than increment the dose as suggested. I maintained the 0.1cc dose (which I stacked with PDE5i).

Thanks to the listed experiences of many in the forum who indicated that when they got results they began to use less. My thinking was that eventually the constant amount of 0.1cc would do its job.

Like many, the chances to put Trimix to "good use" have diminished somewhat. At the moment my wife and I are on a roster of sorts (maybe once a week); but it works.

PDE5is are giving better results, especially now that Pfizer VIAGRA in Australia is $30 for 12x 100mg tablets.

Bush, I am not used to dealing with micro liters, or 1 millionth of a liter or 1 thousandth of an ml(I think) and will have to think about the conversion.

I am used to dealing with milliliters, or thousandths of a liter, same as cubic centimeter/cc.

So with my starter Trimix dose recommended was 0.2 ml. Last time I tried I think I got up to .5 ml as usual very close but no cigar. Might possibly have worked barely if standing up, but I've grown tired of that. Finished up laying down with a bit of pumping and 2 rings.

So 1 ml = 1000 microliters, right?

If so, then .5 ml = 500 microliters. Which is up to 50 times the dose you mention commonly used at HW of 10-15 microliters.

Is that the dose you used, 1 ml/1000 microliters?

This is probably why so many folks just use the units measure on the insulin syringes. By that measure I have worked my way up to 50u's but still have some to go. ( But, I do think a lot of guys are injecting 10 to 15 units, maybe that is what you meant? Or I may just be screwing something up)

Though by now I am starting to wonder if it is loosing potency. I think I have had it in the fridge about 6 months now.

My point is, that they failed to educate me in any way...

And, I admit,..I was totally ignorant..

They gave me prefilled syringes filled to 50 units...That's 500microlitres...right!! And not knowing any better, I was injecting the whole thing !!

I'm hopefully to be warning others to not be as ignorant as I was.

BTW, BillyBob...I tried your 2 ring method with the VED...It worked really well for me...
