I made mention that I may have had this slide deck and I do. Rather that type over again, just a mention that Dr. Schellhammer is a former AUA president, a leading authority on PCa, and now fighting this disease himself with metastatic PCa. The slide deck is missing his commentary but it might be interesting for anyone here to see what a specialist has done with his journey:

Interesting slide deck. Thanks for sharing. I hope you can schedule a webinar with him because the deck raises as many questions as it answers, and it would be great to hear him give the full explanation. I would especially like to understand what he means by "dancing" with the cancer rather than approach it with the goal of a 100% kill.

There were two slides I thought were the most interesting and you picked up on one of them. George Fischer stated the dance concept. Paul clearly does not think PCa is curable for him and he stated probably not for anyone can you ever suggest it. Another friend of mine, David Emerson, used to say rolling with the punches. But it was rather accepting that things are as they are. Fighting prostate cancer sounded like a destined loss, but dancing with it sounded like "ok, on to trying something else".

The other slide was early on. It was his screenings. He started at age 50 which at that time was the standard. He said he was clearly screened early and often but that it did not assure the desirable results. He was right and four years later (Where the Heart Symbol is) he knew he likely had PCa and the biopsy was confirmation. He never had more than a few months of zero PSA after surgery and he knew then the dance was on.
