Prostate DRE after BT?

I have not read or researched anything on what your Prostate should feel like after Brachy Thearapy or any type of RT for that matter. Had my MD do a DRE after a good .41 PSA reading. His comment was "feels coarse and lumpy but no discrete nodules or hard spots". He went on to say he had felt PC before and this did not feel like PC.

And thus my question, what should a shrunk down, RTd, Prostate feel like?

That is a very interesting question, you would think that that area would feel lumpy due to scare tissue.

I asked my urologist why he did a DRE after removing the Prostate. He said it was to look for suspicious bumps, etc. that would indicate cancer Possibly that is all they are looking for when they do a DRE after RT .... Suspicious Bumps.
