My PCa hasn't leaked out, according to the MRI.  He said they could see abnormalities in the prostate itself but all in all, it looked good.

I've given them the go ahead to schedule my HDR Brachytherapy asap.

On another note, Emory has yet to send my slides to Johns Hopkins.  It's been 3 weeks, and I followed up a week ago and she said the order was open.  I left a pointed message about it today, but dang....  You'd think they could at least get that done in a month.

Excellent, but surprised Emory is taking so long as my local uro got my slides to Johns Hopkins in short order.

The result stayed the same as Gleason 9 (4+5) but at least I had a second opinion that that was the case.

Dewayne, HDR Brachy has produced excellent results in both cure rates and low SE's. Sounds like an excellent choice. Just make sure you choose someone who is HIGHLY experienced.

Still worth getting that second pathology opinion so stay on Emory to send the slides; there is no excuse for their sloppiness.

Great news Dewayne, sounds like HDR should work fine for you. I'm about one month out after my HDR. I am not back up to pre-treatment status on urinary or sexual function, but the SEs are pretty minor now, and I am steadily getting better.

Dewayne. What they said about your MRI is the same as they said about my own. But from what I have been told here MRI is not a 100% at detecting if it has breached the prostate. My PSA was 19, so that is why I had to have the bone scan.

If I go for treatment then I have pretty much decided to go the same route as you. But all will depend on the results of my bone scan.
