Just a mini-vent.
I saw the vampire late Friday and will get my test results late tomorrow (I might actually get them today).
The worry and anxiety is terrible as so many of you know.
In particular, there is a lot riding on it for me.
Just to sum it up:
I failed surgery and SRT. I then did HT. That worked so very well and after a year I did a vacation. But, all of a sudden, my PSA started rising very quickly (doubling in a month). It was time to get back on HT, which I did in mid-December (actually 12/1 if you count the 2 weeks of Casodex before my 4-month Lupron shot). I think the HT itself adds to my anxiety with all this.
Anyway, in November I did the C11 Choline scan at Mayo in an attempt to see where the PC is, that's leading to such a quick PSA uptick. They found it in one external node and nowhere else, although it is probably elsewhere.
Anyway, bottom line: If I can respond well to HT, then I can wait until this semester finishes (mid-May) before relocating to Ann Arbor at Umich to do the radiation (I was not pleased with certain aspects of the SRT, done locally). Note that the SRT was done to the prostate bed only, so I do have one more shot, to the lymph nodes! But if my PSA does not respond well, then I have a tough decision to make. Do I create havoc job-wise and go to Ann Arbor now. Or what???? That will be a discussion with Dr. Lam.
Vent over -- I'll know soon enough. But I just
resent and HATE this miserable intrusion. The elephant doesn't want to leave!
Mel (hoping I am not getting castrate resistent just yet!)

As you said, Mel, Dr Lam will be able to tell you, I suppose, whether waiting would likely be detrimental, then your decision will probably be made more easy to come to. Good luck bro.

I hear you Mel it sucks, which is why I have kicked the elephant of the room. I still hear his trumpet nearby as my time for psa approaches. My last was march 2014 .07, which more and more folks here consider worrisome. I usually don't, but as I approach March, the trumpet is tuning up. Not due to results, but due to not getting it done. My decision is particular to my case, the particulars of which I am keenly aware and posted on before. I suspect this time next year the elephant will be gone. I fully expect to die of something other than Pca. " so let it be written, so let it be done!" Good luck with your results. If it helps any I fully expect your psa to be to your liking!

Well, I got the results. I am VERY PLEASED.
My last PSA, just before starting HT, was 5.90.
about
5 weeks after my Lupron shot, it came in at 0.24.
PHEW!!!!!!
They also did a ton of other tests.
I am still waiting for the T result.
All of the other tests came out good except for an elevated BUN rate. Since other tests were good, I think it will not be a problem, although we will see what Dr. Lam thinks

Good result. Waiting is never easy (for me). Someone posted a while back that they suffered from P.I.S.S. (PSA interval stress syndrome).

Good news Mel. Time to start breathing again!
I agree about
the intrusion. Kick it out of the room until you're ready on your terms!

Thank you all.
The only positive aspect (other than the results, of course) for me is
that I used to get upset starting 2-3 weeks before getting results.
These days, it's about
2-3 days.
Next round of tests in 2 months, unless Dr. Lam is concerned about
my high BUN rate
Mel
