Marie and Don, Thank you both for the post suggesting that I look at a trial at NIH. I contacted them that day and I must say I thought it would be a waste of time. But nothing to lose. Anyway I got a call back and things have moved rapidly. I will be going up to NIH on Feb 9 thru 12 for assessment as to my suitablity for the trial. Must say I am a bit excited as well as apprehensive. Sounds like they will do a very thorough evaluation with scans and blood work. I suppose I should learn to squeak if I get in.

Again, thank you both for the nudge in what may be a very positive direction.

Jim will be there on Feb. 10 also. They keep him real busy since he's only there for the day but he'd love to meet you and at least shake your hand and wish you luck with the trial. By the end of his assessment day, we knew what arm of the trial we "won" and had the vaccine and a month supply of enza.

That's great to hear! Hope your experience at NIH is as positive as mine has been. I'll be going there on Feb 3rd and 24th, so I won't have an immediate chance to see you there, but schedules do bounce around, so maybe we can meet during some future visit.

Don, come to one of our semi-annual GFMPH gatherings. Karen and I have had the pleasure of meeting Wampuscats and Adjust there.

Next one is April 16 in Baton Rouge. I think you said in that thread you may be able to make it.

We'll be thinking of you tomorrow as you head to NIH. Jim will get there around noon. Keep your eye out for a cute 65 year old, slimmish, baldish, guy with glasses! ;)
