Fantastic drop indeed. However, I suggest you take this with a pinch of salt. Ht on first application always results in an impressive drop in PSA. This, however, does not mean the equivalent number of cancer cells getting killed. This a CT scan would confirm. The most degenerated cells, probably the gleason 4+ cells, will survive and, after a period of slow but steady PSA rise cancer will come back with a vengeance.
It is therefore good and progressive thinking of your doctor to suggest early chemotherapy because by this approach most of the very bad cells will get attacked from the outset. This will not result in a cure but will give you and your doctor more time to think about therapies thereafter, possibly those strengthening the immune system like Provenge or a Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
