That's great progress CADguy. Is it hard? The side effects from the injection I mean?

The side effects from the Firmagon for me are mostly the hot flashes that I get from time to time each day but they are not to bad. When the temperature is 7F outside I really don't mind them.
I also noticed my thinking process was a bit different from the HT injection. I got used to that also.

I did have a mild headache from the Xgeva inj. That lasted maybe 1/2 of the day after I got the shot. I haven't noticed any other side effects from it though. I feel pretty good at this point considering everything.

CAD, sounds good! As for the hot flashes, I am taking .2mg of Clonidine twice a day, has pretty well eliminated my hot flashes.

Dear CADguy,

I want to really congratulate you on your huge drop in PSA ! That's got to be very encouraging to you, that's for sure ! It's a tremendous drop in a short amount of time.

Do you experience any site injection pain from the Firmagon shots ? I've heard that can happen with the Firmagon shots. Hope the shots are going well for you. They are obviously making a big difference for you.

Glad to hear the sides are not too rough CAD. I had to inject myself with interferon for 88 weeks once and it felt like I was underwater the entire time = foggy headed, submerged.

Sounds like you're doing well and seeing that PSA drop has to feel good.

Thanks to all of you for the words of support.

Cyclone, I do get a red welt that stings if you brush against it. I keep a big band aid on it for the first several days after the inj.

Doug, I will have to look into the Clonidine.

Doing really well my friend. I had over a 99% PSA drop in 30 days (209 to 1.2) and all of my Dr's were very pleased if not shocked at the huge drop in such a short time period...

Best I can tell you is to stay on Firmagon monthly shots vs. going to the more convenient Lupron 3-6 months shots...Dr. Myers who most of us here respect has switched all of his HT patients to Firmagon. Yeah the injection site pain sucks for a few days, but if this drug buys you more time on this planet, it is a small price to pay .

You are kicking ass my Brother and we will all eventually beat this beast one way or another

CAD,that's just awesome! I assume you are feeling better as well? The drop in psa is great, but the mets are history too...right on! Keep EM gone!

Very good, CADguy!  I have been taking the Xgeva injections for about 6 months and have had no noticeable side effects. Again, your response to the treatment sounds great!
