If the last psa was done with avodart in your system, most would say you have BCR. I don't understand the need for whatever test you are taken. If you have a BCR, other tests will not delay that knowledge. Get ye to an oncologist and deal with it in a "proven" manner. The fact that you talk spot radiation , indicates a lack of knowledge of the disease. You need solid medical advice from those that have that knowledge, which does not exclude members of the forum, necessarily

so avodart and the like only effects Prostate cells in the prostate and not escaped cancer cells? I never knew that.. Am I confusing proscar and avodart? Are they the same. Psa .15 is probably too low to detect at all. So it is undetectable. Not being funny, but something seems wrong here . Is it just me? Are you using "undetectable" in a scan context,TA. Again words are strange creatures. The point does not affect me, but may others. Am I seeing too much or too little. Or am I beyond redemption and only see that which is confusing. Or all of the above. These kind of posts, when dealing with subject of PCA mislead others. I always try to catch every possible meaning to words, maybe to a fault, but thats been covered in my more esoteric posts. Its there for your reply, reflection or you may choose to ignore, TA. i reread the initial thread carefully and understand TA was referring to mets. Im still unclear, why not needing to double, psa when avodart or Proscar is in you system. If no one else is Im happy! sorry That my confusion added to others confusion. But again there are no stupid questions on this forum. I did NOT, know the answer to my questions before I asked and was only trying to educate myself and others, which interestingly I have…. refer to my new thread as to the methodology. What I understand is that Avodart reduces the size of the prostate hence the psa is to be doubled. It is still not clear to me as to what happens when there is no prostate.In case, because of some chemical reaction Avodart hides levels of psa then it has to be doubled,which can be in my case, as after starting Avodart my psa came down to almost half then starting increasing again. Confusion? Anyway I am taking a chance or SRT is definitely the next course of action.

Shaba can you explain the the doubling confusion referenced in the post above your last?

Logos, from what I have read it's like TA said no Prostate. Nothing shrinking to reduce PSA so no need to double "healthy" PSA. Only PSA turning up on post surgical test is coming from PC cells. Ok?
