I've my colonoscopy scheduled for this coming Thursday. Prep starts on Wednesday. Until then I feel a bit in between - can't really do want I want this week until after Thur.
Hence this poem hit the keyboard:

In Between

Part of my brain wants to write.
Part of my brain is tired.
Part of my brain says it is alright.

One project completed.
A new one started.
Old ones standing on the self.

Waiting.
Always waiting.
Am I

Waiting for my body to heal.
Waiting for the doctors to start the next test.
Waiting for the result that may change my future.

Such is the pain in my brain,
fearing to start,
fearing to dare to dream of new paths.

To start or not to start.
To watch the clouds drift across an uncertain sky.
While my fingers hover over the keys,
waiting in between the failing of the day
and the start of a new day.

Waiting in between the passing of the cloud
and warming of the sun, my mind seeks the rest of night
while my soul wishes to ride the winds and find the sun.

Andrew, suggestion...bake a batch of snickerdoodles to have waiting for you when you return from such unpleasantness. Another "keeper" poem.

Thanks for the kind words folks.

In the past these colonoscopies were just annoyances that I knew would show nothing significant.
But, now 3 years post RT I am a little more concerned about the results than I have been before.

Well, the prep starts today. My last solid meal was last night. Clear liquids all day and then I get to drink the oh so fun prep liquid later this afternoon.

I just hope this trip is worth it.

This is a no snickerdoodle day...

Keep the Faith, everything will be OK. Go to that quiet peaceful cloudy day place during the procedure. My Brother had his, said he didn't recall a thing, except some weird feeling down there.Take care Brother. thank you so much for that poem, that's a keeper! Love your Blog too.
