Hi Everyone!
My surgery at City of Hope (Dr Lau) is scheduled for Monday morning. I have been waiting on pins and needles for the past month and finally D-day is here. At this point I am just happy to rid my body of this cancerous organ although I have to admit that I am beginning to get nervous. I just wanted to let all of you know how much easier this journey has been for me, thanks to all of you and your shared experiences. You guys have been a life saver for me (mentally) and for that, I thank you...hopefully I will be able to help others get through this as well.

David, catch you on the flip side. I can totally relate to the feeling of relief. Honestly, on surgery day as we walked from the parking garage to the check in desk, I felt relief, not anxiety.

David, I know the feeling. Had my RALP last wed. Do the walking and drink lots of water. Good luck and let us know how your doing next week.

"Waiting on pins and needles" Well not much longer to wait, there will be plenty of them come Monday. :-)
I wonder about my self but I have pleasant thoughts about my experience. Comfortable bed, great room service, even after they took the morphine away I still liked it. I'm serious.
I'm hoping your experience is similar.

David, there is a feeling when you walk into the hospital on the day of surgery, sort of like "well, it's all over, I'm putting myself in the hands of experts I've chosen" so in a sense you are still in control, even when you are put out.
You will have to be a fighter for a couple of weeks, but I'm telling you soon enough, you will be amazed at how good you feel.

We are all glad that our posts have helped you and look forward to seeing you on the other side,cured, and helping some news.

On my day of surgery, I was happy.
Happy that the cancer was found early and very happy that this surgical team was going to save my life.
I was so relaxed, the anesthesiologist didn't give me any pre-op relaxant, he said I didn't need it.
It's been 15 months and all is well.

Wishing that your surgery on Monday go well and that soon you can start the recovery process. Be patient and stay positive, each day will be a little better than the day before - but it does take time.

I just went through the procedure a few weeks ago as well. I think you take some comfort in having the procedure at a time when the technology has advanced significantly. Wishing you the best.

You're well on your way. I had those same anxious moments (weeks really) before surgery day. I had my surgery two weeks ago and can only tell you that I am feeling great right now. The recovery has been going very well for me...you're gonna be fine.

Best wishes and good luck to you on Monday. I was playing some of the best golf of my life 2 months after surgery. I'm sure you will do fine and be feeling great soon.
