Ok. The Baton Rouge meeting of 2015 was my first GFMPH gathering. I am a PC (suffering alone) virgin no longer. On so many levels, I can say only: WOW! And THANK YOU !!!!

Cajunjeff and Mommapat: Thank you for your hospitality! On so many levels. Including the wallet level. ;)

And also, I am no longer a mudbug virgin. Thanks pigeonflyer. Also not a cajun joke virgin. Thanks Perry. Really, thank you!

For scotch and cigars, thank you Iaz. This is my dear wife's name for you, and you know who you are......You brought to our meeting an experience that was one of a kind.

And to all my brothers in the PC club: I wish you were not a member. But given that you are, I cannot imagine a fraternity with members of higher quality.

I went by the cigar shop Saturday, and left word of the resoundingly good comments. The H2Perfecto (strongest blend I had) turns out to be the favorite of one of the guys I know there, who is also a scotch lover.

I'll be planning the September order before Father's Day (there will be a sale), so any comments on favorites are welcome. I hope I'll be able to do the same in Rochester, but it becomes more certain if I pay for them early. No way to chenge my mind devil

Sherry an I are officially ending our GFMPH trip tomorrow morning at 6am. We are parked in Jeff's yard for our last night.

In 3 weeks we manged two camping/fishing trips wrapped around GFMPH and today we were here to help Jeff celebrate his birthday.

GFMPH was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones. Jeff and Pat sure know how to roll out the welcome mat and make everyone feel right at home.

Thank you both so much.

These last 3 weeks have been a blessing of "Bonus Days",

Well, now that GFMPH is finally (un)officially over, we must add our official THANKS PAT AND JEFF!! You are awesome hosts. We had a blast while there and enjoyed every minute and have vicariously enjoyed through Sonny and Sherry's extended visit. We keep coming back to photos and memories and can't wait to see everyone again in less than 150 days!

We are also lonesome for all of our old and new friends. I must say seeing Sonny and Sherry pull out of the driveway was so bitter sweet. Like sending you kid of to collage. Happy to see them go and sad and the same time.

What a wonderful experience this gathering as been thanks to all of you.

See you all in September We are already making our plans. :)

Jeff - glad you had a chance (in reverse order) to celebrate your birthday, play in the Baton Rouge symphony, host GFMPH and all the associated prep. What ya gonna do with all that spare time in your hands between now and Sept 24-26 in Rochester NY?

Again thanks so much to you and mama Pat for opening up your home to both the usual GFMPH suspects and the new attendees (and thanks to your understanding neighbors).

Just had my monthly bloodwork and only the tricylcerides were a tad high @ 187, a testament to the outstanding Cajun cuisine. I should be able to get that back in line in time to skyrocket it again in Sept.

So in a month will have to change my username from LupronJim to IHT-Jim when my 9 months to have the Zytiga baby have elapsed.

All 3 GFMPH host families are the best! Only 700 days before the Cajun GFMPH prep begins again, with two Rochesters and one Orlando GFMPH in between.

I'm curious. Do the new guys attending GFMPH events for the first time given name tags with their screen names on them?

yes real first name plus screen name, and partner's name tag has their name and his screen name (or her since some GFMPH women post here too)

For purposes of the minutes, by my count we had at least 25 PCa guys and 22 spouses to come close to the maximum these events can accommodate, which would be a number in the low to mid 50's.

Last 3 or so GFMPH's, the total of attendees has been in the mid to high 40's, but not always the same ones as we typically have about 4 new PCa guys/couples, and not everybody can make every GFMPH.

For logistics reasons, before other conficts, some attend only the Sept GFMPH in Rochester NY, some primarily attend only the Spring GFMPH that alternates between Baton Rouge and Orlando, and many try to attend twice a year.

You don't have to worry about learning names. We wear name tags - and have our screen names tattooed on our members of interest.
Mine only says "Wor.." I used a big font. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

The only way that many letters are visible is though the clear acrylic tube of a VED. Hit the release button and the whoosh is the sound of text instantly disappearing.

A winery tour is a great idea. Most are a little far for a big group but a couple of car loads is fine. We did Casa Larga once. (I live on the NW side of the city.) I will also set up a behind the scenes tour of the airport. Fire, crash and rescue, baggage, communications center, Army Air command, etc. It was fantastic.

Yep I'm so nervous only "Wo.." is visible now.
