Hi all,
Finally have the catheter out. Cross one off the bucket list! Can't believe it, but I was fully continent within 2 hours. Going to the loo easily, but in a bit more of a rush than normal. I am putting it down to the 6 weeks of concerted exercises that I did, that were given to me by a Prostate Nurse, Mr David Hughes. His Kegels are more involved than normal. He has a video on " YouTube" if any one is interested. Simply put David Hughes and Prostate Nurse into your search engine ( Google will certainly work) and have a look at his video. It's free and the methods seems to have worked for me. Apologies if his name has already been mentioned previously.
My post pathology report reads
Gleason score 3+4 ( originally 3+3, 4+3 and 4+4) with tertiary component of Gleason 5 ( very small)
Tumour volume 0.89 cc
Perineural invasion absent
Lymphoma secular invasion absent
Extra prostatic extension absent
Clear local resection margins
No involvement of seminal vesicles
Pathological stage pT2
No evidence of malignancy in fatty tissue
Apical and bladder neck margins clear
I must say I am pretty happy with the outcome!
Will post at another time and have a bit of a talk about our payment system in Australia if anyone would care to listen. ($11000 out of pocket despite full private medical insurance). What price your health? Obviously, at least this amount if you have it!
Again, your support is and has been an amazing thing. I am so glad I stumbled on to this site!
Cheers
Greg
