Had first PSA test of the year, after experiencing a drop last year (unexplained, unexpected), its on the rise again. Went from 42 to 50 in one swoop. Biggest jump I have had in some time.
Having a full body CT scan next week with barium contrasts, to look for mets once again, or any other cancers that might be lurking.
Seeing a dermatologist in a week or so, to do a biopsy of a growing "growth" on my scalp, been there about 3 months, that looks just like my former porocarcinoma growths. Started out as a small bump, not worth talking about. Now much larger, fuller, and alternatives between oozing clear "whatever" or bleeding, and never heals up. Not any kind of wound or bite. They are going to do a biopsy to determine
Having both these procedures done outside of the VA, getting too frustrated with their delays.
Have a 4th appointment this month with the VA Neurology department, they have already cancelled 3. Hope this one sticks
After waiting 7 months on the urgent list, finally have an eye doctor appointment with the VA in July, to look at growth in corner of right eye. Took them long enough.
Have appointment next week with ENT doctor VA for lump in cheek, again, if they don't cancel once again.
And have another dental appointment next Monday with VA, another step closer to my dentures.
Oncologist made no remarks about my weight loss, as if there was no concern in his mind, which I found puzzling. He started seeing me when I weighed above 230 lbs. Today he saw me at 126.5 lbs, looking like a human skeleton, yet no comment or conversation, even though it was in the notes I had prepared for him to read.
Have learned of another possible diagnosis for what ails me, surprised no doctor has ever mentioned it. RFS, Radiation Fibrosis Syndrome - meets many of my ongoing long term symptoms from radiation damages. Going to bring this to my doctor's attention.
Due to increasing pain levels, got switched for breakthrough pain from the Norco's I have been on long term, to Dilauid tablets. Pharmacist said to be real careful, being on two types of strong morphine at the same time, to be extra careful not to double dose accidently. Got a pill box set up, and if I have any doubts, I err on the side of missing a dosing, as opposed to taking something twice. Hoping it will help with some of the intense evening pain I have been experiencing the past few weeks.
That's about it. Never any end to this, just wait, wait, wait, endure, endure, endure. Trust me, one never gets use to a constant battle of pain, fatigue, and sleepless nights. Got to be more to life than this.
