I find lots of information on Hazard Ratio, but I come up empty looking for a definition of Adjusted Hazard Ratio. Anyone have a source?

Just as a quick guess, the hazard or odds of something "causing" or being associated with whatever the bad thing is you are looking at, compare to some control.

So, the group with lowest amount of X being called 1 has an HR of PC of 0(or maybe 1), and the highest group(lets say 4 groups) with the highest average amount of X has an HR of 3.5 or 3.5 times as likely to get PC?

Then the adjusted HR would probably be adjusted for various other things associated with PC, like age or who knows what else.

That is just a quick guess until someone who knows checks in here.

It's just the ratio of the hazard rate of one thing compared to the hazard rate of another thing. So if, say, those taking ADT+salvage radiation had a 20% chance of progressing in 5 years, and those taking salvage radiation without ADT had a 38% chance of progressing in 5 years, the hazard ratio is 20%/38% = .52. Another way of saying it is that those who added ADT to their salvage radiation were only half as likely to progress in 5 years.

Sometimes the hazard rates are adjusted for patient characteristics so that the two components are comparable.
