First of all, PLEASE use the correct symbol:

Undetectable has a "<" in front.

Trust me, it's much better than the ">" symbol that so many of you use.

Fortunately, we all know what you mean (but, still, the mathematician in me GROANS!).

Anyway, I think I have my result.

My doctor's office called. His usual nurse is off this week. The substitute had trouble even finding stuff on her computer and, to be fair, I had a ton of tests. I said I only want to know the PSA and I'll just get a copy of everything. At first, she said that it only said it was "collected." No result. I told her this is usually the first test result they come up with. After a lot more fumbling and a tension-filled 3-4 minutes, she did find a .02.

I had her repeat it a few times to make sure and hopefully she is reading it right. In fact, I forgot to ask if there is a "<" sign in front. I do know the lower limit of this particular assay is .02. So, I will be going soon to get the hard copy, but it looks real good.

Got the hard copy. It is 0.02.

Mine came back undetectable at <.06. Same for the past 7 months on zytiga. Doctor said dont came back for 4 months.

How are the zytiga SE? (Say compared to Lupron/Casodex)

Zytiga wasn't that much more than the Lupron, for me. Hot flashes came back (at night thankfully), need to take the Prednisone or else i feel run down. It just all starts to wear on me as i hit 36months of ADT.

I understand the wearing part.

My big concern would be the pred. and its SE!

Do you take a large dose of pred?

I know it takes a long time to wean off of it and you have to do it very gradually.

I've never personally had to use it

Less than 0.015 (Labcorp) ultra-sensitive PSA, T=105. It's been a long road, but great to be back in club zero; after oligo-metastatic. I take Pomi-T twice daily, reduced animal protein, no eggs/dairy.

The prednisone is only 5mg, twice a day, ran out of it once and felt weak all over for two days. Zytiga is 1000mg at night. At first I felt maybe stronger hot flashes, but got used to them. The SE of Zytiga is definitely a little more fatigue. little more weakness in muscles, and maybe a little more weariness of mind. I'm still working full time, in front of computer all day mostly, sometimes loose my trend of thinking or zone out, not too often though yet! So I would say, manageable, as opposed to Lupron which I am still on, which is more like "woman-igible" !!(new word)

Hi everyone,
Just walked out of the Uro with a 6 week PSA reading of 0.011, after robotic prostatectomy. To say I am pleased would be an understatement.

Mel, congrats on the low PSA.

SteelGuy - have you tried Eplerenone in lieu of Prednisone? Since I was on Provenge Immunotherapy at the time and Prednisone also affects immune system, I was advised to not do Prednisone 5 Mg two times per day and take 50 Mg Eplerenone (inspra) once a day with a meal.

Since I just started ADT, I did a couple of different tests to get baselines.

DHT <5 since I jsut started Proscar/Avodart to limit DHT
PSA stilll <0.01
CTC =0 where a score of <5 is in range.
PAP = 0.9 where range is [0 - 3.5]

Apparently the PAP Prostatic Acid Phosphatase is some measure of semen, so the volcano wiaitng to erupt some day may not be totally dormant.

First off, I'm glad to see you got the number you wanted, Mel. Enjoy your good health.

I got my blood drawn on Tuesday and they posted all the results online today -- except for the PSA number.

I called the Doc's office to see if he ordered a PSA test and they said he did. The woman said she'd check, but that maybe he wanted to call me and discuss the results. I hope this doesn't mean what I think it means.

Congrats to all who got great news this month!

Just got latest results... .26 so off for another wicked Lupron shot tomorrow. MO wants it down to undetectable before HT vacation begins again. Glad PSA is down, glad that Lupron is working, hate the stuff!

Results are in after the doc spent two days scaring the hell outta me by holding back the results of the PSA test so he could "send a letter."

Still in the zero club. This year will be five years since my prostatectomy. Going to NYC to celebrate, catch some jazz and shake off the anxiety.
