Thanks Doug.
So i had my follow up with the surgeon today. Basically repeated what he said last time, that i have a less than 5% chance of recurrence. I asked him about that, saying that i always thought that was the case for G6 not G7 even the good G7. He stated that even with a G7, negative margins trump everything.
Other thing that came up, is that knowing how nervous i am, he said lets order a genomics test. He said he knows it will come back as not aggressive, but wants to do it just to calm my fears. So he instructed his PA to order it and said it will take some time to get results. Then i realized that its very expensive and probably not covered by insurance, so i emailed the PA and mentioned to her that if that was the case, i should check with insurance and if they wont cover it and its expensive, i would take a pass, as long as it isnt necessary. Waiting to hear back from her.
I also asked him a few questions about diet. He recommended that for my next visit, instead of seeing him, i meet with the member of his team who is the Director of Integrative Medicine and focuses on stuff like nutrition and acupuncture. I "said that would be fine, as long as my PSA didnt rise, because then we'd have to talk, and he responded relax, I'm telling you, it won't rise."
I'll take it.
