I am sad to report that Bob Parsons has finally lost his battle with prostate cancer. Bob died this morning and his spirit as one of the very best prostate cancer advocates lives on. Bob was always a friend to me and he always question the PCa industry. He lived 12 years with advanced disease.

I am saddened to tears but I know he's in a better place.

This is very sad news indeed. Bob was a very important part of our forum for many years and was a really great guy. The world was a better place with Bob in it. My prayers are with his family. He will be missed.

P.S. I just went back and saw that Zufus' last two posts were on Dec. 14, 2014. Both were well wishes to other members (Todd on the celebration of his 51st birthday and me on the celebration of 6 years cancer free). So typical of Bob to leave here showing his love for others...

This is so sad. Yes, Bob was a great guy and great contributor to this forum. He forged his own path (much less traveled) in fighting this disease and was very successful for many years.

He didn't hesitate to reach out to newbies, such as myself when I joined this group

Tony thanks for letting us know about Bob. Like many of the others this news is very saddening. Bob and I had many conversations outside of HW.

His brother and my late wife shared the same cancer and we were always comparing notes on the "What's next".

His absence has been greatly felt during the last year, he will be sorely missed, that's for sure.

Truly sorry to hear this.

I made a post on some other thread here earlier today that our battle with prostate cancer has similarities to being on a battlefield fighting an enemy.

If so, then Bob is a now fallen warrior, now joining the ranks of the other brave warriors that we have known here.

Let us always revere their courage and their memory.

Another good man gone. As a relative newcomer here, I don't know that I ran across him more than a time or two. The respect he was held in here is obvious. Farewell!

The twilight zone as Bob often said. What a great person and absolutely unrelenting in his support for people with this disease and in his own approach to fighting his own battle. Our prayers for his family.

I'm truly saddened to learn of Zufus' passing.  He was very active on HW when I first came here five years ago, and he often made me smile. 

I remember once he adopted a new moniker and forced everyone to guess who he was.  Being an English major, I figured it out pretty quickly because he had a habit of saying "whom" when "who" would have been more correct.

Does anyone know how old he was?

I'm so sorry top read of Zufus' passing. He was one of the early posters who questioned what was then the norm. He fought the good fight and will be missed.

I always enjoyed his posts and the cutting-edge treatments he approached with his eyes wide open and full of hope. 12 years with that dire a preliminary Dx is no mean feat, and it seems there's still a lot to be learned from him. He continues to inspire even after his death.

Before my diagnosis, in November 2014, i was coming here on and off for a coulple of years (around PSA time or biopsy time). I do remember Zufus. I didnt get to know him, but i recall him responding kindly to some of my out of my mind posts and questions.
When i saw the title of this thread, while not knowing him personally, my heart sank.

I have missed him for the last 1 1/2 years from being active on the forum as he was wise as they come. Thanks for letting us know Tony as your last report was that he had gone home with Hospice Care.

Zufus did not miss too many tricks and he kept a lot of people honest when the debates about treatment choices were raging..He was his own best advocate and the path he followed worked out as well as any all things considered.....

Everyone who knew him will miss him....RIP my Friend....
