Hi all,
my husband and i are based in Singapore but are travelling to NY mid-August for work. I thought this would be a good chance for us to see some of the top doctors in US for a second opinion and as we will be in NY, Dr. Howard Scher at Memorial Sloan Kettering came to mind. Has anybody sought treatment from him before and do you think this will be useful for us, especially given the stage we are currently at?
Quick history (signature has more details) - diagnosed ~2 mths ago, on Lupron and seeming responding well. No symptoms or side effects to-date but PSA has dropped from 15+ to 0.5 at latest test on 9th July. Gleason 9, T4 with one bone met to left ischium and some suspicious nodules in lungs.
By the time we are in NY, we'll have results from our next choline pet scan (Jul 28) as well as germline and somatic genetic testing. We are (still) seeing 2 oncologists in SG, one is telling us not to go for chemo especially since he's responding so well to Lupron while the other thinks we should to aggressive attack the cancer esp as my husband is relatively young (55 this year) and pretty fit.
Any advice welcome!
