Advance Sling Surgery Monday

Hello everyone and especially you sling veterans.,
I had the sling surgery yesterday. Doctor said it went well to my wife. I didn't get to talk to him.
Surgery scheduled for 1:45 and I got home about 8 pm. Not much pain but I took 2 Norco 7.5 anyway.
I couldn't pee but about 100 ml after an 250 ml challenge and drinking an 8 oz coke and almost finishing
a 1000 ml IV bag. ...So I had to go home with a catheter. I was a little bummed about that. I am to remove
the catheter on Wednesday at 6am and see the Urologist's PA at 8:30 am to see how empty I can get my
bladder with an ultrasound. He warned me that could happen. What happens if I can't pee? Do they put back in the catheter?
I am trying to be very careful with my movements. I am a lot more sore in the groin area today. Not
excruciating but sore. Being still and a Tylenol took the edge off of it.
I am excited to be going forward.

This morning my wife was to take the catheter out. I have a 1:30 appointment, not 8:30 as I previously
posted. They will evaluate my ability to empty my bladder and I could try this morning.
I couldn't pee after surgery but I COULD TODAY. A little different, a little slower but that seems to
be a good sign at this point.
I hope that means no recatheterization.
Now we'll watch for the leakage.

Last nite (post op day 2): I had to get up every 45 minutes to an hour to pee. I generally get up every
2 hours anyway, but a lot of urgency last nite. Don't know but I hope that will settle down.

The doctor visit with the PA went well . I could empty my bladder completely. They told me to take it easy
and call them Friday if I couldn't have a bowel movement. Still no leaking ! Just having some directional
issues with my scrotum being so swollen.
