Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my story for future members. I would like to let everyone know that I am thankful for your stories and this site.
Back in May 2015 I went in to the Dr. for bleeding from the rectum long story short it was hemorrhoids. While there the Dr. check my prostate and it was large for a 49 year old. I also that day and my PSA was checked and came back 0.4 and the Dr. said not to worry. My family history, my father, fathers brother had their prostates removed with low grade cancer at age 64 and 70. Also their cousin had prostate cancer and had his removed also.
So I scheduled to see Urologist to see what he said about
the enlarged prostate. He walked in and said what can I do for you your PSA is very low. I told that I received pressure from my family to have it checked out. During his DRE he found a nodule on the left side of the prostate and that my prostate was a normal size for my age. Lets just say he was amazed that he found the nodule and to thank my family.
I decided to have the biopsy July 6th, 12 core biopsy was done, I will tell you the shots for the biopsy were painful to me and I felt pressure like I had to have a bowel movement during those shots. After about
3-4 minutes I didn't feel a thing but the rubber band snapping feeling on my prostate. I knew that thanks to this forum.
I will tell everyone waiting those two weeks for the results was a horrible experience. I did everything I could to just keep myself busy. I didn't really talk to anyone because I just didn't know what to say to anyone.
The results came back negative all 12 cores, the Dr. said that he even guided one of those cores straight through the nodule. I will say that this experience has change my life, that this forum was full of info that helped me get through this. I pray for all that are on here, I pray that God gives you all knowledge, peace guidance, through this horrible disease.
Yes, I will be going to the Dr. to check that nodule every six months for the rest of my life.
Bless you all!!
