Thanks Jerry. On the outside, under the point of his chin (right where the bone is). Nothing inside the mouth. Doesn't look like much of anything right now, just a little red and swollen. Dave thought it might be a boil - his urologist jokingly said he was too old for those.
We've been living with this question (metastasis? Osteonecrosis?) for months and months, while Dave's TMJ type symptoms keep him very uncomfortable. It just seems so strange, I've seen estimates of 1% after years of bisphosphonates or Xgeva, and the claim that it's usually associated with dental events. Which Dave has not had (completely cleared by dentist several times), and he was only on Xgeva for 3 months, and even more odd to me is that his very first bone scan (before Xgeva) showed something possibly dental in that jaw.
The incidence with Prolia is supposed to be even lower (due to lower dose and frequency).
Of course osteonecrosis is awful and I'm really scared about it. So maybe this is just denial. But it still seems odd. I did find a report of someone who developed it after four months on Xgeva. Sigh, again.
