There is recent evidence that aspirin also improves the effectiveness of the new "genetic" treatments. They seem to work better and longer when aspirin is in the mix.....

That article seems to say that aspirin helps regardless of the modality of treatment used. And the higher the risk grade of the PC, the greater the benefit. Where did you see something about
aspirin specifically with respect to newer genetic treatments?

Interesting. I was banned from taking aspirin for life after some gastro issues in my younger days.

I take 2 x 81 mg per day for cardio health. Maybe I will bump that up to 2 regular dose and see if I can stomach it.

I have been taking baby aspirin 81mg for years prophylactically . It is suspected that aspirin reduces chronic inflammation which might attribute to cancer.

I think the 80mg dose is adequate..I noticed an article on Yahoo News about
a trial that discovered that aspirin could greatly improve the efficacy of the new genetic based cancer treatments..
The first time I stumbled across aspirin in regards to PC was several years ago when I read an article about
a VA "study" (informal) where VA doctors who treat thousands of PC patients discovered that those patients on an aspirin regimen (taking it for their hearts) had half the PC mortality rate compared to those men who were not taking aspirin..Those doctors recommended further careful study but I never saw any sign anything further was done...

I take one 81mg dose per day. I didn't notice any discussion of the dose in the linked study.

I have been taking aspirin every day since 1985, based on its cardiac benefits.
about
2001, my doctors convinced me to stop taking the 320mg pills, and switch to 81mg.
So, after pricing the different dosages, I bought a pill splitter, and break the regular aspirin into four pieces.
All good... same dosage, and MUCH cheaper than buying the 81mg pills.

If you shop around, you can find the 81mg COATED pills cheap enough....

Thanks for the shopping info, guys. I have always used Bayer from CVS as the price comparison, and see today that their 325 and 81 dosages sell for about
six cents a pill, making the 81mg pill four times as expensive as the 325mg.
But, I will do some shopping of other brands, as apparently, you are finding much better deals.
