It's been 5 weeks since HDR brachy (they hit my pelvis also, lymph nodes). Bladder only holds one third of a pint before I have to run to empty it. Urine steam is weak. How long does it usually take for swelling to go down and things to go back to somewhat normal?

My HDR was just to the prostate, but I think it was about 3-4 months before my urgency subsided.

As I've said, since my procedure I no longer dribble or get up to pee in the night. Before treatment, I did both.

After four months the urgency went away for the next four months. However, I've noticed it returning somewhat this past week, at nine months out. My RO said that could happen, back during my June appointment when I didn't have any issues.

its a gradual recovery where at times I said "well if it stays like this I could live with it". five years after the end of treatment though I feel "normal" again.

Radiation is the slow road. Expect 3-4 months to start feeling a change. Three years out and I still have a bit of urgency.
