Is <.05 considered an undetectable PSA?

That is what the oh-so-meaningful "<" proclaims. Undetectable. Congratulations - great result. Best to you on successive tests...wait - to all of us here.

Yes! the magic, "<" means this is the lowest the lab can detect.

As reported your result is less than 0.05 which is the lower limit of detection of the PSA assay used
for your test. It is undetectable by that PSA assay. If other assays are used with a lower limit of detection
your current PSA could be lower than 0.05.

Because your current result is while your under ADT, the result of your salvage SRT is as this point unknown. No question your current result is good news, because you are dealing with a high risk aggressive PCa you should monitor your PSA every 3 months if possible. The result of SRT/ADT will be know when your testosterone is back to your pre treatment level hopefully in the normal range.

Thanks, guys. That's what I thought, but I wanted to confirm with folks who've actually been there.

Ralfinaz, we are aware that we're still in the "wait and see" area to find out if the radiation was a success. It's just really good to see undetectable, since this is the first undetectable we're ever seen. And, since we're told that the duration of ADT is based on when the undetectable level is reached.

You and my brother-in-law are in identical places in your journeys, with identical post op paths.

When I heard he was undetectable I laughed and cried at the same time!

I can understand the question and concern. I had three straight readings of .1, .01 and <.1. It really had me worrying that my PSA might be going up. My Uro had to reassure me that no matter how those numbers were expressed they essentially mean the same thing "0".

.05 being undetectable or zero here and in a thread initiated by Tall Allen .03 is the new level indicating a biochemical recurrence!

I'm currently 0.04 after SRT 4 months ago!

For Randy Joe whose post op PSA was 14.2 at 11 weeks, the <.05 is excellent news. Although I am no expert, I believe once treatment is given, i.e., surgery, radiation, etc., It's not so much how much PSA there is, but the trend, upward or downward. For some, the trend doesn't even matter because the Pca has morphed into something different.

Note that the 0.03 thread by Allen was about relapse after RP! This thread is about relapse after SRT. Two different things. 0.05 is excellent after SRT but somewhat less excellent if it had been after RP.
