Age 52 4-3-7 PSA 8

Looking for your thoughts and experiences

I am 52 and just diagnosed with PC. Leaning towards surgery but would to hear from others around the same age with their experiences.

I also got the call relatively (although not as early as some here) at age 51. Based on your subject, can I assume you were diagnosed G7 (4+3)? If so that's unfavorable intermediate risk. (3+4 would be favorable.) That's not to say you can't do well, of course. I'm doing good as a G9 with a combo of HDR brachy and IMRT (although it's still the early innings). No SEs a couple of years out.

On the topic of your biopsy, have you gotten a second opinion on your slides from Bostwick or Epstein? The sticky at the top of the page explains how to do that. It would be good to get confirmation of your diagnosis--particularly since at a 4+3, that could swing a few different ways.
