Greetings all will give more extensive report when able. Some good news too but first this:Catheter pulled today. I'm peeing fine however there are some clots in the urine . Dr not concerned only if they prevent me from urinating. He also said and the nusrs said they should disappear after 1 or 2 days Anybody have this issue upon getting the cath pulled??

It's pretty common. If you see lots of new, bright red blood you should be concerned. A few chunks of old clotted blood is not unusual. The balloon on the end raises the input for the catheter above the bladder floor and gunk tends to accumulate. When the catheter is removed that stuff washes away pretty fast.
Let us know when you get your pathology report. Be sure to ask your surgeon for a printed copy. We can usually help with the jargon which can be somewhat impenetrable at times.

I was told not to remove cath until no blood or clots in bag for two days which indicates that the connection has healed. Mine was out in 13 days. Not sure why your cath was removed so early.

I had the same thing for a few days after it was pulled. Nothing to be concerned with. Glad things are going good!

jdsky, the clots can continue on and off for up to 6-8 weeks, I had some leftover clots passing for about
5 weeks.

Good morning all
Final Pathology: 16 L nodes Neg; Gleason 3+4=7;Tumor
location: R+L posterior; vasculr invasion not ID'd; Perineural invasion not ID'd; High Grade PIN ID'd; Tumor invades into but not beyond prostate capsule; Seminal Vesicles not involved; Bladdr neck not involved; R neuro bundle partial resection: benign neurovasculr tissue, no carcinoma seen; L neuro bundle complete preservation; Staging: pT2b (AJCC)
Report says :Surgical Margins: Tumor present at R posterior margin. The area with the positive margin may correspond to the frozen section performed at the level of the R neurovascular bundle. The surgeon circled "right posterior margin" then drew an arrow to: Additional R neurovascular bundle shaved biopsy: benign neurovascular tissue, no carcinoma seen. That information seems like a negative margin to me?
I can say that as of day one post catheter I have been completely continent. I feel my bladder getting full and then pee. No drips.
Thanks jd

Cathy is gone!!!!!!! The nurse could not count. She said she was going to pull on three and we were all in agreement. At a out 1.5 she pulled and said it was out. That was a surprise and it was not that bad, I think. She pulled, put it in the trash and I was thinking 1, 2....and she was done. She did a great job. Now getting use the the pads is take a bit of adjusting. I can control my pee most of the time, but when it is time to pee, it starts coming and will not stop. Cough, pee a little, Sneeze, pee a little. We will see how this week goes.

jdsky: that is a good pathology report. All contained is the key. Clean nodes. So, now you're going to be on the 3 month blood draw plan. Great news on the continence. Next question...let us know when willie wakes up.
614....sounds good! No more leash!

jdsky, congrats on keeping it all contained! That's the biggie.
I have a question for anybody who can answer. How can you have positive results on both the right and left side, with invasion into but not through the prostate capsule and still have stage T2b? Just trying to learn here.
