Hello there sports fans. I hope that everyone is doing as well as can be expected while traveling down this crappy road called Pca.
Sherry and I have just been choking the life out of the Bonus Days and livin life large. But it was time to give Pca its due diligence so I had some tests and saw my Onco.
Short Recap for those that are new and those that have put this out of mind for a little while. I had surgery in 2009, had SRT in 09-2010, and PSA continued to rise until a few lymph nodes were found and PSA was 92.5. February 2014 I had my first Lupron shot and I was on it for a year.
February 2015 I met with my Onco and we decided I could take a break. My PSA was down to 7something and for the next couple of months it kept going down to a low of 4.something.
We decided with my Onco that I would go back on drugs IF my PSA rose to half of my highest number, so looking for 46 or so.
Last week I had a battery of tests and scans. Bone scans STILL showing clean as they have all along. There are no new nodes and the ones we know about
are pretty much the same size or smaller. But the PSA is up to 26.
So when I talked with him yesterday, I told him the needle was in my future. He determined that we would get together in three months (Feb) and go from there. I told him to make sure the needles were sharpened. I figure it is a for-gone conclusion.
As a side note, he said that when they are doing Intermittent HT they usually do 6 months at a time and he would use a 6 month shot. I QUICKLY TOLD HIM NO FARKIN WAY. I would stay with the 3 month shot, thank you. I know what the 3 month shot does and how it affected me. I was not going to take a chance on increased SEs from a 6 month shot. I have talked with folks who have had them and more often than not the SEs were more pronounced. He said that I was the 2nd guy in the last month that had told him that and had opted for the 3 month shot. I told him that he needed to learn from his experienced patients and put the 6 month shot in the back of the closet.
So I am going to make the most of the next three months, enjoy the holidays and have as much sex as I can. Hopefully by the time the SEs kick in I will have been able to enjoy the Spring 2016 GFMPH.
So there you go, this is my update. I am still living a very blessed life and enjoying the helloutta it. Sherry and I just celebrated our 2nd anniversary while in NY for GFMPH and plan to choke the life out of our 3rd year just as well.
I have missed a lot here on HW, of that I am sure. There are a lot of new names here and that is a crying ass shame. Any of you can always reach me through my active email. I will be just hanging around and soaking up the Bonus Days,
Sonny
