HT - short term/long term

Your bf does not have high risk cancer where longer term ADT has been found to be more beneficial. Let's hope that six months ADT plus IMRT to the prostate bed does the trick!

Be very, very careful not to compare dissimilar cases. This is not a one-size-fits-all disease, and there are many variables which make subtle but important differences in cases.

BF's urologist's recommendation for a combination therapy of neoadjuvant HT/ADT, prior to RT, is radically different than other cases with ADT alone, which is a palilative care strategy.

6-months neoadjuvant ADT is common for men not in the high-risk category (where 2-years is more common), and BF's only adverse prognostic factor is the EPE.

I agree with the comment about not comparing dis-similar diagnoses. I had 18 months of HT (shorter than many here), but it was as a G9. Typically, you would not have any HT as a G7, but it sounds like EPE put that on the table. (Good thing you pointed that out, BTW.) I'm not a medical professional, but six months doesn't sound unreasonable to me. That said, I'm sure you'll get several more opportunities to query his doctor on the duration.
