FOR ANYONE WHO HAS DONE PROVENGE

Hi all, I was a regular on this board couple of years back when my dad was initially diagnosed. I always appreciated your help. I wanted to ask for anyone who has done provenge... my dad has a port installed but its so diffuclt for him to shower. I was trying to buy him a cathether protector on amazon but I am not sure which one to get, it seems as though they are all for chemo ports, if anyone could help? Thank you!!!

I did the Provenge treatment back in September. I also I had a port installed. What I would do for showers is; place some double sided tape a few inches all around the port. Then take some clingy plastic wrap and cover the area with a nice sized sheet. I would then take some wide box tape and cover the edges of the wrap for double protection. The hardest part to cover is around your neck.

I would then take some of the wide box tape and wrap a piece all the way around my neck. Be careful not to get it too tight. This was really effective at keeping the shower water out. It is a pain to go though all of this, but you get used to it and it just becomes routine.

I was happy the day that I got the port removed as you can imagine.
