Thanks Sheepguy for taking that as constructive and not negative, and I certainly wasn't just calling you out. Many on here fall into that comparing trap.

In a round about way, you were telling him to look at things positive...so that is appreciated!

Your post sounded like mine about 16 months after surgery. I hated it more than I could imagine.
I fought back in the only way I could - by taking data. How much am I leaking per day. That data was useful in deciding the next treatment step.

Know this: Incontinence can be fixed!
How much are dry pants worth to you? $20,000? $40,000? $60,000? Well my the sling surgery cost about $30,000 and most of that was taken care of by insurance. Well worth it.
The AUS surgery migt be a little more. But it is done.

You're about 50. How much is a working winkie (sorry for the technical terms) worth to you? $50,000? $80,000? Get an Implant and you're done!
I am 63 and would be lying if I said I didn't miss my old erections. It has been 6 years and I still grieve a bit for my loss. I'd get an implant in a heartbeat if I was your age and dating or had a partner who cared.

You can fix this. Rather than giving up - get mad!!!

Call the Uro and take the next step. Who knows... you might end up even better than before!

Until you do, for Pete's sake stay away from beer before bed! (Are you crazy?!?!)

Close to half of newly diagnosed liver cancer cases are "early stage," yet the 5 year survival for this group is only about 30%.

Close to 3/4 of newly diagnosed prostate cancer cases are "early stage," and 5-year survival for this group is about 99.9%.


The major problem for early stage liver cancer patients is staying alive. Look on the pages here, what's the major problems of early stage prostate cancer patients...the biggest issue is deciding whether to treat it or just monitor it.

I'm not naive...was simply making a point. I was vague in my data in general, which you obviously once again single in on a single point instead of the big picture. Yes, in GENERAL, liver cancer is more severe, my point is quit comparing how one is better or worse.

Sheep obviously got the point, in mine and his conversation, so leave it at that.

Now that's an interesting rationalization, jpenn: now you are implying that "the big picture" is different than "in GENERAL." Hmmm, you are really trying hard to split some very fine hairs to backpedal. That's fine...leave it at that.


By the way, I hope that you didn't take it personally. Despite what I said, I didn't mean to imply that you personally were naive. What I meant to say, and I don't mind clarifying when necessary, is that your comment was incredibly naive about lack of a solid perspective of the big picture. It's not an attack on you, the person, just the comment.
