It's possible ... I was able to put on muscle for a while on Lupron. But then I'd do a round of radiation or chemotherapy and get set back again. In the end, I was able to slow the muscle loss or stay even. If I'd have been more diligent and not had the chemo, I think i would have been able to put it back on. (I did lose weight though!)
There's a thread where some of us discussed this very thing over the summer:
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=35&m=3277191I worked with a trainer so that I could keep at it and not overdo it. Depending on the facilities or equipment you have available you can do it with a friend or solo as well. The two books I like are: "Starting Strength" by Rippetoe and "Total Shape"by Vedral ... They gave me enough information so that i at least can pretend i know what i'm doing at a gym. Then i went when it wasn't busy or with a trainer a few times to get set up.
It takes determination, especially because the gains come slowly ... but by the end of the summer when I came off of Lupron, my wife was surprised at what i could lift and move versus the year before. Good luck.
