Almost finished with salvage radiation

After today I only have 7 treatments left (out of 35) - whoo-hoo!

So far the only side effects have been two instances of diarrhea and consistent fatigue. At about treatment 12-15 the fatigue was such that I really didn't feel like doing anything in the afternoons (treatments are mid-mornings) even after my daily nap. Now I'm able to skip my nap but I get really tired by 7 PM or so.

I was having some gas issues (too much gas and the radiation tech will do something really weird with a hose smilewinkgrin ) but taking a probiotic has helped me a great deal.

This has been a very difficult year for me having been diagnosed almost exactly a year ago. And I've spent Thanksgiving, my birthday here and also will be here for Christmas and New Year's. cry

You're almost there. The last few days can be the hardest, but you'll make it.

Before you know it, this will just be a bad memory.

Steve Harvey just reviewed your daily report. He confirmed that he did indeed make a mistake in tabulating the totals. You now have 48 more sessions to go before you are released.

Just kidding, you are almost to the finish line. Hoping for great results!!

Time does fly. Looks like you have few side effects. I had stomach issues and had the fatigue you mentioned. As of now, the 39 sessions are a distant memory. Good luck in getting to the finish line.

You are very lucky! After my RARP I was prepared for weeks or months of various degrees of incontinence, but as soon as the catheter came out I was continent. Wife donated all of the unused supplies to a local organization. The side effects are so variable from person to person.....

Thank you everybody for the kind and humorous comments! For a while I thought I would never see the end of this regimen, but we're closing in on the goal. yeah
