This is my first time posting here. My husband had RP surgery Nov 23. Upgrade from 5+3=8 to 4+5=9. Tumor involved 80% of prostate, right and left lobes. Margins focally positive (apical, bladder neck, anterior, lateral). Seminal vesicle invasion present, right and left. Five of 11 lymph nodes positive. Pathologic Staging: pT3b pN1.
Now my question. Is it normal to have blood in his urine 6 weeks after surgery? This doesn't happen just once or twice in a week, it is every day. He notices it after doing Kegals, after he has tried to stop and start while urinating, when he is trying to start a stream. He said there was a small clot this morning in his pad. I noticed a small spot (quarter size) yesterday while changing a pad. He had started to leak during the pad change, he tried to stop it, when he pulled the pad up, then down, there was a spot of blood and urine in the pad already. He has never had continence, several pads during the day, and at least one at night, even after getting up at 1 to 2 times to pee.
The catheter was taken out 10 days after surgery. He had a UTI 7 days later. He then had to have a catheter put back in for 4 days, because he wasn't able to fully empty bladder. Dr could not find a stricture, at that time.
Another problem he complains about is, a very uncomfortable feeling (pressure) between his testicles and rectum. He has this a lot.
Anyone else had these problems or any ideas on what it could be? Help!!!
