SBRT locations??

You shouldn't have to travel to LA. The CyberKnife website lists places that use CyberKnife equipment for SBRT, but you have to call to see if they treat prostate cancer with it. Here's the link, and it may not be up to date:

Not all SBRT treatments are done with CyberKnife equipment (mine wasn't). Sheepguy mentioned that Upstate was using Vero equipment, for example, to do SBRT. That's a very good brand, but I don't know anything about the experience of the radiation oncologists there at using it for PC. To add to the confusion, SBRT is sometimes called SABR.

And Cuberknife is done at Winthrop University Hospital, both on Long Island (Webster Nassau, about 12 miles from Manhattan) and in Manhattan (West Side)

We highly recommend Kevin Stephans at the Cleveland Clinic for SBRT. Steve finished a course of 6 treatments about a month ago. (We had 6 instead of the usual 5 due to idiotic insurance restrictions, but that's another chapter in the book.)

We would also recommend a visit to University Hospital here in Cleveland. They would have been our first choice for treatment, but they only do SBRT at their main campus and that was out of network for us. Again, idiotic insurance... Drs Lee Ponsky and Richard Ellis are pretty high on our UH list of recommendations. Ponsky is a uro surgeon and Ellis is an RO. We didn't extensively vet docs there since we had the ins issue.

Reminder - if anyone is considering a visit to Cleveland for medical care, the RNC convenes here this summer so plan carefully.
